She had experience of word processors from her working days but a Windows environment, the internet and email were all new and scary. We put in place a series of weekly sessions about an hour long covering the basics of how to use a “modern” computer.

The skills we covered were:

  • Using a mouse
  • Opening and closing applications, such as a web browser or word processor
  • Sending and receiving emails
  • Using Microsoft Word
  • Using the internet

The lessons have increased her confidence enormously. She now regularly sends emails and types up meeting minutes. She even wrote a Christmas letter including pictures to send out.
