Confused or What?
The other day I spotted the above collection of road sign by some road works. This is either the shortest diversion ever or some very bad sign placement. Either way, it made me laugh!
Lessons in Clear Marketing
Nonetheless, it contains a very important lesson for anyone who is marketing their business or a product. Whenever you put any marketing material together, you have to give the recipient clear directions about what you want them to do. It doesn’t matter whether you are creating a website, making an advert for social media or getting a flier printed, you must make it clear.
Do you want them to ring you? If so, make the phone number prominent. If it is on your mobile website, make it a link that makes that phone call.
Do you want them to click on a particular link? Then make sure the link is large and visible – either as a button or in the text. Tell people they have to click on the picture, if that’s what you want them to do.
Also, remember that people react differently to the material you create. Some are visual people who will only see images and buttons. Others read text and don’t see pictures. Make sure your marketing material covers both types of people.
Simple but effective
Yes, the above point are very simple straightforward lessons, but sometimes you have to state the obvious, especially if your marketing is to be clear.
