A client wishing to make sure that she was able to take part in the modern world.
When our client was presented with a laptop by her grandson, she thought she really ought to learn how to use it!
She had experience of word processors from her working days but a Windows environment, the internet and email were all new and scary. We put in place a series of weekly sessions about an hour long covering the basics of how to use a "modern" computer.
The skills we covered were:
- Using a mouse
- Opening and closing applications, such as a web browser or word processor
- Sending and receiving emails
- Using Microsoft Word
- Using the internet
The lessons have increased her confidence enormously. She now regularly sends emails and types up meeting minutes. She even wrote a Christmas letter including pictures to send out.
